Meet our new caterpillar babies

March 10, 2023: Found 2 Black Swallowtail Catepillars

I spotted a little tiny black speck on a couple of leaves today while watering the newly planted Rue and Dill. Also, I’ve been wondering if our little “Tinkerbell” – the one we’ve been watching on our Nest camera – is a female. Well, good news: she is! And guess what? She’s laid one egg on the dill and another on the rue. I can’t help but wonder if she’s testing out these plants to see if they’re suitable before laying more eggs. Isn’t nature fascinating?

We’re absolutely thrilled to announce our very first bloom from the Tulip Test Garden project with bulbs from Journey North! We have a lovely mix of Red Emperor Tulips, Yellow Daffodils, and Grape Hyacinths in our garden this year and today we were greeted with the delightful sight of one of our Yellow Daffodils in full bloom. Isn’t it just stunning?
