Our Charming Leo the Lizard

Green anole lizard May 2024

Guess who I spotted lounging in our fennel blooms today?

None other than our old friend, Leo the Lizard!

2023 Leo the Green Anole Lizard

Last year he used to roam all over Our Charming Backyard Butterfly Garden. We’ve enjoyed him so much we named him Leo. Today, he seemed pretty pleased to see me—I could tell by the way he didn’t flinch when I got up close to snap a few shots of him. He even seemed to strike a pose, like a true star!

A penny for your thoughts?

Those eyes! They seem to speak volumes, don’t they? I couldn’t help but wonder what thoughts were racing through its mind as we locked eyes. So, I silently reassured it with thoughts of peace and love, hoping it could somehow understand. And, of course, I couldn’t forget to thank it for keeping an eye on the caterpillars. It looked blissfully content nestled among the fennel blooms, like it found its own little piece of cloud nine in Our Charming Backyard Butterfly Garden.
